On December 18, 2018 Francesco Iannamico passed away, for all Franceschino, a simple and genuine person who dedicated his life to his family, to work and to his country.

His grandfather, Francesco, born in 1857, elaborated a particular and unique infusion, different from any other liqueur. The inventor of the Abruzzese Punch was a man of dynamic thought and great ideas, he was among the first to perceive the new opportunities offered by the technological innovation that characterized the birth of the modern era.

The development of navigation allowed him to import special spices and infusions from the Americas and Antilles that still today make this liqueur unique.
The Punch was presented in the most prestigious and important European competitions, making an endless series of awards.
The rest is history and poetry.

It is nice to re-read a few verses by Oreste del Cioppo from 1903: "Lu Ponce de Monzù Jannamiche"

Every day in the afternoon Iannamico's bar is full of lies, of the people who fill it. he made a tasty and delicious liqueur that puts you back in place a rib and strength gives you back

Then continue

... a gentleman from Turin, he was reduced skin and bones, he was ready to be buried
with three or four glasses he saved himself from death, I come back beautiful and strong, he could live and eat

Francis said: "d Monzù", the word derives from the "Neapolitanization" of the French term: Monsieur, a title attributed to the chefs in the houses of the Parthenopean aristocracy between the XVIII and XIX centuries, had as the eldest son Roger, born in 1896.

In his twenties he found himself facing the "Great War", the fascist venntennio and finally the "Second World War" that left an indelible scar in the Valle del Sangro.
Fortunately, a new nation was about to be born and the Iannamico business was born with Italy and with it our Franceschino, son of Ruggero, born in 1926.

He was 34 years old Franceschino, when the Amaro d’Abruzzo was born in the Iannamico laboratories.
Another idea, a new flavor, also unique.

The company grows again, the Amaro and the new essences found new "fans", the family brand finds new distribution networks for its products.
Franceschino wanted to bring the liqueurs of Villa Santa Maria “on everyone's lips”.
He succeeded, with his calm, his love for good and genuine things, patience and perseverance.
He succeeded by making use of a profound knowledge that the Iannamico family still preserves today.

The Monzus knew the herbs, they knew how to extract strength, goodness and magic.
In the eighties the US markets opened for the Villa's liqueurs, then Canada, Australia.
A few years later it was the work of Francesco, the signing of an important agreement with the "Landy Frères" Italian Industry Luxury Liquors.
We like to remind him of the "conquest of the social media", while proud, with a raised thumb, celebrates 130 years of his Abruzzese Punch in a post with 17,000 views, over 400 likes and 3,200 interactions.

Simple and charismatic, honest and hardworking.
Villese verace. Yes, because most of all he loved his country, his people and his places that he often remembered, talking about his childhood.
A country, mother of fantastic flavors to which Franceschino has dedicated his long life.
He never gave up, he faced his time with tenacity and determination.

The successes, many, have never been considered as a point of arrival but as a starting point, new challenges to be welcomed with enthusiasm, a contagious enthusiasm especially for his children who preserve the love for the work and the affection of a tender and present father.

In recent years, although marked by illness, he went every day to the company, to production, to the office, giving advice, urging, as he liked to do with a raised thumb, never to give up.
